PRIMARY PURPOSE: Maintain Clean and safe facility. Keep all parts of warehouse floor in order and flowing. Assembly of various food boxes, receiving, storing, and distributing food inventory, order processing, shipping, receiving, and quality control support to the Food Bank. Must be able to verbally present and demonstrate instructions to a large number of volunteers on a daily basis, as well as direct other staff to ensure all on task and working as efficiently as possible. Moderate computer skills needed. Heavy paperwork involved.


  • Maintain clean facility
  • Ensure proper safety practices are being followed
  • Keep product moving in and out of building
  • Ensure Coordinators are keeping track of all documentation
  • Build worksheets for production builds
  • Keep track of labels and other supplies and order as necessary
  • Pack various food boxes per specified menu and/or instructions including packing boxes of frozen product while inside a temperature controlled environment. Gloves and coats provided as necessary
  • Direct operations staff and volunteers to assigned areas on volunteer floor, based on maximizing productivity
  • Ensure all needed materials during volunteer shift are in place
  • Complete end of day volunteer production logs and send to all associates needing the information
  • Ensure all product is accounted for (with product description and unit of measure) before and after volunteer shifts
  • Assist shipping and receiving processes as necessary including sorting food goods, order picking, loading and unloading
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks or shelves according to date received.
  • Operate manual and electric pallet jacks and forklift equipment to load and off-load freight/products up to 50+ pounds unassisted.
  • Read and assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocating orders to a holding area.
  • Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory.
  • Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards in accordance with all applicable policy and procedures.
  • Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for visitors, volunteers and customer traffic.
  • Maintain in excellent condition and protect all property entrusted to you
  • Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation "user maintenance" of designated equipment and provide required reports
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Individual will be subjected to frequent standing; walking; and stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50lbs and operate a forklift. Receiving department experience a plus. Bilingual also a plus.

  • Individual will be subjected to frequent standing; walking; and stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
  • Ability and willingness to operate electric pallet jacks, forklifts and scissor lifts and other warehouse equipment following completion of mandated training.
  • OSHA forklift certification or willingness to obtain same (at NTFB expense)
  • Reaching, bending, repetitive motion, etc. for extended periods without rest.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
