PRIMARY PURPOSE:  The North Texas Food Bank Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), known locally as People and Nutrition (PAN) assists individuals age 60+ with a monthly food package once determined eligible. The CSFP Specialist will provide administrative oversight to the CSFP staff, as well as perform all duties of a CSFP coordinator. The Specialist adheres to all Federal, State and NTFB guidelines, policies and procedures and ensures compliance is maintained at provider/community sites.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain calendar entries and updates for distributions and communicate changes across NTFB departments, including holidays and other closures.
  • Place orders in Ceres for senior program distributions.
  • Perform administrative-related functions such as answering incoming phone calls and emails, creating fliers, copying and other administrative tasks.
  • Screen and certify individuals inquiring about CSFP/PAN participation both over the phone and in person. Educate all participants and interested parties about the benefits of CSFP/PAN and client responsibilities while enrolled in the program. Refer non-eligible persons to other programs or resources.
  • Assist with CSFP/PAN distributions at community sites throughout Dallas County as needed.
  • Enroll all clients and track client participation utilizing the CSFP software package, Link2Feed.
  • Ensure client eligibility by checking and recording CSFP/PAN identification at each pick up.
  • Conduct outreach in assigned areas to assist with awareness and expansion of senior programs.
  • Represent senior programs at community functions, regularly scheduled meetings and other meetings as needed.
  • Inform the manager of any concerns or areas of improvement and efficiencies.
  • In the absence of the Manager of Senior Programs, act as the primary contact for distribution sites, state and federal representatives and NTFB leadership.
  • In the absence of the Manager of Senior Programs, coordinate with the Operations and Logistics teams to make quick decisions in the best interest of Senior Programs and NTFB.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Manager of Senior Programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                                 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree required.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.  
  • Experience in a social service agency preferred.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook a must.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
